Drip irrigation is a great solution to save time and money while conserving water and improving your plant's life. Distributing the right amount of water to your landscape creates major success for the life of your plants. Drip irrigation systems deliver water to the plant's soil at a steady rate targeting the plant's roots and reducing water loss from evaporation or surface runoff. Drip irrigation may be a better solution for your bedded areas than a fixed spray or gear driven system, which are known to leave water droplets on flower petals or leaves that act like a magnifying glass that burns plants. Drip irrigation keeps the soil evenly moist promoting an overall healthier, beautiful landscape.

Backflow preventers such as PVB’S (Pressurized vacuum breaker) or an RPZ (reduced pressure zone) are used to connect your irrigation system to the city water coming into your home or commercial building. These prevent any possible back flow from your system, back into the city water causing contamination. To ensure that your backflow is operating properly and to prevent any potential issues form occurring, having a certified technician test your backflow on a yearly basis is best. If you are located in the Hampton roads area, your city may already require you to have an annual backflow test done.

Winter is rough on irrigation systems. Pipes can freeze and burst if not properly prepared for the colder climate. Winterization helps prepare your lawn care system for the colder months. There are two different kinds of well pumping systems, horizontal and submersible. Both systems are used in residential and commercial settings. We at Hydra Irrigation service all well systems. Troubleshooting systems and replacement of all well pumps, packer jets, master valves, variable speed drives, and any materials used to operate and keep your system running at its highest potential. We take pride in giving our customers the reliability they want and need when it comes to their well systems. Most well pumping systems, for there preservation and protection, will require winterization during the winter months.
